What is NeuroCes™?

NeuroCes™ is defined as “a device that applies electrical current to the patient's head to treat insomnia, depression, or anxiety" via a process called Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES).

What is the current legal status of NeuroCes™?

NeuroCes™ is a Class IIa medical device according to Medical Device Directive MDD 93/42/EEC, which was certified by the Notified Body CE 1304 Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology (SIQ).

How effective is CES in treating anxiety, depression, and insomnia?

The improvement found in various anxiety studies has ranged from 31% to 97%, in various depression studies has ranged from 25% to 80% and in various insomnia studies has ranged from 37% to 93%.

How long must I use NeuroCes™?

NeuroCes™ treatment results are cumulative and lasting. While most of the users experience improvement immediately in the course of treatment; others experience in hours, or several days after. For some conditions, NeuroCes™ treatment has to be continued until a sustained relief of symptoms is achieved.

Should I stop medication when I am using NeuroCes™?

NeuroCes™ does not have any contraindications with medication. NeuroCes™ stimulation signal does not interact with drugs. So, you can use NeuroCes™ at the same time when you are taking medication. When a sustained relief of symptoms is achieved, you should ask your physician if you may decrease medication dosage or quit medications.

Are there any side effects?

Adverse effects associated with the use of Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation are only minor side effects such as skin irritation, mild headaches and dizziness. Such reactions are very rare and cease after the end of use of device.

Is there anyone who should not use NeuroCes™?

NeuroCes™ is contraindicated for use in patients who have demand type or sensing type cardiac pacemakers and implanted defibrillators. NeuroCes™ is also contraindicated for patients with suspected or diagnosed epilepsy, for pregnant woman, for patients with impaired pituitary hypothalamic axis and for patients with possible hydrocephalus.

Where can NeuroCes™ be used?

NeuroCes™ can be used in doctor’s offices, hospitals and clinics as well as at home without medical supervision. NeuroCes™ is safe, effective, and simple to use when properly used in accordance with the Instruction for Use.
